Thanks for the loan of the transmission this weekend. Not many folks would be so kind to a competitor! Thanks again, see you in New Jersey. Read the rest of the well deserved thanks on the Spec Miata forums…

I’ve been using RP Performances services for over a decade and they just keep getting better and better. Bret and his team are not only knowledgeable championship caliber racers but are fun and friendly to work with.

RP Performance has been one of the primary reasons I’ve stayed interested in racing a Spec Miata. Bret de Pedro and his staff’s intimate knowledge of these cars and their dedication to RP Performance’s customers has been excellent. RP Performance has made it easy to travel to neighboring track events with both their logistical and mechanical support at very reasonable prices. RP Performance has never ignored a problem no matter how minor or inconvenient the issue may be. They know Miata’s!!!!!!

I’ve rented cars from RP Performance for several driving events at Summit Point and they have always been well prep’d. Prior to each event Bret went out of his way to setup the car to my driving preferences and provided a detailed briefing on the car’s capabilities. One event was during Hurricane Hannah, and while it was amazing that the event was run under those conditions, Bret had the car ready to go and well prep’d. During another event, when I had some driving technique questions specific to the Miata, Bret grabbed one his instructors and we went out for a few laps of instruction gratis. Kudo’s to Bret and I intend to rent cars from Bret during the 2009 season!!!

I can attest to RP Performance as being one of the best Spec Miata race car builders in the country. Bret built two Spec Miatas for me and he has never let me down. Both race cars were fast right out of the box. The service and support I get from Bret DePedro, Kenny Zalner, and Brian Zalner (three class winning champions) is priceless. I can remember when I was in racing school at the Point my transmission blew up. I could not finish school without a race car…Bret put the #90 on jack stands and replaced my tranny during lunch break enabling me to complete the school with flying colors. I will continue to use RP Performance and I guarantee that the #90 will be a force to be reckoned with in 2009 thanks to RP Performance. Thanks Bret..

Coming from the world of Porsche Club DE and Club Racing; I had no idea what to expect with the SCCA and spec miata, other than the racing looked like a blast. I spent my first few events with some other DC area shops doing ‘arrive and drive’ rentals then supporting my own car, but struggled to find the attention to detail that I required. I knew the guys at RP Performance were consistently fielding the fastest mazdas in the area, but figured there was a distinct driver ‘pecking order’ as you unfortunately find with a lot of race shops.

About two years ago I needed an exhaust to run SSM, and Bret (Owner, RP Performance) lent me one of his. Well, that exhaust is still on my car going into my third year of SSM racing and Bret has never asked for a dime. From that point on, I have used RP Performance for all my miata service and support needs. Bret continues to show his commitment to his customers by further investment in his business, from taking additional shop space at Summit Point to being the first with a chassis dyno on site.

I have, and will continue to, refer all of my racing friends to the services of RP Performance.

I recently purchased a Spec RX7 from a friend of mine and had no idea what I was getting myself into. I was referred to Bret at RP Performance by the Spec RX7 community while trying to figure out my new toy. Bret was very patient with me and my lack of general car knowledge. His team got my car prepped for each event while helping me understand everything I needed to have fun, fast and safe track days. After all his help, I am ready to start my first race season in the MARRS SRX7 and look forward to being part of such an outstanding team. Although he specializes in Spec Miatas, he has not forgotten his roots in RX7s and neither have the rest of the SRX7 guys who always pointed me in his direction when they were not able to answer the questions themselves.

Grant attended a National Auto Sport Association, NASA, driving instruction weekend at Summit Point West Virginia. The event was organized by the Mid-Atlantic Region of NASA. During a NASA race weekend, the driving instruction sessions run in between race sessions. There is both on track and classroom instruction. Grant spent time on track in three 25 minute sessions both Saturday and Sunday. Grant was driving a Spec Miata provided by and supported by RP Performance. Bret de Pedro, with RP Performance, provided great support and driver encouragement throughout the weekend. RP Performance is located at Summit Point and we highly recommend them for Spec Maita race support and rentals. When Grant was not busy with driving and classroom sessions we watched a lot of our friends race in the Spec Miata class.

I have been using RP Performance to support my Spec Miatas since 2003 and have been very happy with Bret and his team’s service. I have used the best racing organizations in the country to support my non-Miata race cars, and it’s no exception when it comes to my Spec Miatas. Bret’s multiple championships, both as a driver and as the head of a race team, give me the confidence that my cars will be fast right off the trailer, with the right setup and a strong engine. RP’s driving coaches, multiple champs themselves, Brian and Ken Zalner, have been a big help over the years in getting me up to speed as a driver. And when there has been a problem at the track, RP gets it fixed. I highly recommend RP Performance.

After a long layoff from racing and having retired my car and trailer, I anyway decided to renew my SCCA license in 2008. So after some thought and research I decided the best way was to rent a Miata from RP Performance. And what a smart decision that turned out to be. I was able to have Bret, Brian and their crew take care of everything; and all I had to do was just get to the track, drive and have fun. They took care of all setup and maintenance that made the weekend(s) a pleasure. I already have plans for additional sessions and races in 2009.
